     It all began in 1964 when Henry Kraus opened the first Electropedic Beds store, manufacturing and selling the incredible adjustable beds he had first seen at the 1964 World's Fair in New York City.

     After seeing the adjustable bed exhibit at the 1964 World's Fair, Henry Kraus recognized the value and innovation a product like this would provide. Henry Kraus returned to California and later in 1964 soon opened the very first Electropedic Beds store manufacturing and selling mattresses as well as these new incredible adjustable beds!

     Because each innerspring coil is individually contained inside its own cloth pocket, the 9" Pocketed Coil mattresses are perfect on an adjustable beds! The individual pocketed coils, 609 of them in the twin-size mattress alone, are manufactured by Leggett & Platt whose advancements in fine-wire technology allow the creation of specially designed coil springs that flex and conform to your individual body contours.
